Samsung to Spend US$1.2 Billion on US-based IoT Research and Startups

Samsung has announced its vision for "Human-Centered IoT (Internet of Things)," which includes a plan to invest US$1.2 billion over the next four years for US-based IoT R&D and investments, according to Samsung's press release on June 21. The vision takes a human-centered approach, embracing the life-changing possibilities of the IoT technology and working together to bring these benefits to the society. In addition, it is reported that half of the $1.2 billion investment will be used to support IoT-related startups in the United States, aiming to get these companies adopting Samsung's technology, especially chip components.
